Let's Talk: Beyond the Fear to Self-acceptance

Date
June 9, 2024, 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm (EDT)
Location

Online via Zoom

This workshop, in the form of a conversation amongst friends, will delve into some of the more common and difficult emotions that are associated with stuttering, and present ideas on how to dismantle the web of negative emotion that affects us so deeply. Presenter Mary Wood will talk about her experiences and gained insights and lead an open discussion with the audience.

For me, the fear of stuttering relates to the fear of being rejected, trying to be fluent so we can be loved and accepted.   Stuttering can also be a reason to ask questions about the feelings we are experiencing, and the stories we’ve been telling ourselves, sometimes for many years.  It really is the tip of the iceberg, and self-acceptance is an important part of our journey. I invite you to join me as we learn from each other and our experiences.”
