The iPhone and Stuttering Treatment

Hollins Communications Research Institute (HCRI), an American Institution, has developed an application for the iPhone to help people who stutter with their fluency skills.

Rolled out in February of 2009, It is meant to be used in conjunction with clinical therapy sessions. The handset is capable of having a voice monitoring system programmed into it, and can even evaluate speech behaviour and give fluency measurements.

The iPhone is still in the research stages but is functioning now a regular component of stuttering treatment at HCRI.For more information check out the Hollins’ website.
