CSA Board Director member Michael Niven spoke to the press Tuesday, May 18th about the positive results of treatment he took many years ago at ISTAR (Institute for Stuttering Treatment and Research) in Edmonton. It has been shown that the program has long-term, positive effects.
Please note: There was a factual error in the Edmonton Journal about Michael Niven and ISTAR that got picked up in the headlines of the other Canwest publications. The article mistakenly stated that at the five-year post therapy measure, stuttering was reduced by one third when in fact, as a group, the stuttering was reduced by more than two thirds.
