Mary Wood gives the keynote speech at the 2018 CSA conference

Thank you to all of you who attended our 2018 annual conference held in Toronto! One major highlight of the conference was the keynote speech graciously given by Mary Wood. Every sentence was packed with wisdom, meaning, guidance and compassion! You can hear her speech on Daniele Rossi's Stuttering is Cool site here. Enjoy it!

We would like to thank the Conference Planning Committee, the CSA Board, and the presenters, some of whom came all the way from California, for making this conference such a great success! We'd also like to thank our sponsors, The Stones Group and The Printing House, for your generous support!

Everyone who came to our 2018 conference helped to make it a memorable occasion. The positive responses and support we get is the motivation to move ahead in planning another event for next year!

Not only did we have creative workshops on choral singing, drawing and comedy improv, but distinguished researcher Dr. Gerald Maguire joined our conference to share his important research on stuttering and pharmacological treatments. David Stones gave a workshop on personal fluency maintenance for people who stutter. All the workshops were well received! Thanks to the presenters who gave their valuable time to contribute.

The Harmonize for Speech barbershop quartet

As a special treat, the Harmonize for Speech barbershop quartet gave performances after the keynote and serenaded us during lunch! They were fantastic! And of course, also getting rave reviews, was Mary Wood's keynote speech, which was moving and poignant. We are so glad to have been able to feature her as our keynote this year. Check out our flickr account for some images from the event!
